Sangeeta gnanamu bhakti vina

Organized by Premanjali Educational Trust, as a fund raiser for their activities, their 5th such programme in 5 years was a treat to Bangalore music lovers.

First it was - Pandit Rajan and Sajan Mishra

The duo enthralled the audience, infact they had a filed day toying with the saptha swaras.

The rendered two raagas, firstly a rare recital of Shree which is so great to listen but believed to be very difficult to render. They then rendered Raaga Sohini another master class and concluded with a Guru-Nanak Bhajan.

If that was not enough the Jugalbandi by Padmashree Kadiri Gopalnath and Pandit Ronu Majumdar left the audience mesmerized. IT really felt like heaven. Kadiri'ji was at his typical best - The usual Hamsadhwani - how many times have I not heard it from him, but every time it's fresh, and a unique performance. Ronu Majumdar a master himself was humble enough to follow Kadiri Gopalnath and called him is spiritual elder brother - a great gesture indeed, the ensemble seemed to have some chemistry leaving the audience levitated.

It is a pleasure to have been there, then the third part - a Tabla Solo by the Teen aged upcoming artiste Rimpa Siva just demonstrated why she has been lined by to take the pole position in the coming years.

I will not make any futile attempt to write a technical review of the proceeding as am only a music lover, and my attempt here has only been to share the joy I experienced. I am yet to contact the organizers if they will release the audio recording.
