Let me state the disclaimer at the very outset, am a newbie to music in the sense ... I listen to a lot of music but never ever learnt it.
But still I have a lot of curiosity in Raagas, hence i will be asking a  lot of questions [kick me if they are stupid].

TOPIC:
I do not know why, but I have not been able to fathom the difference b/w many a Ragaas, this time I wish to know about Maand and Hameer. As a IT Pro I would ask this way ...

If I run the diff command on the two; what would the output be !!

Hameer and Maand, how are they different? [assuming that they are similar]

I think the 'diff' command would give a lot of output [I mean, these ragas are not very similar].  Hameer is a raga from the Kalyan family whereas Maand is a folk melody from Rajasthan.  In my next post, I will explore the differences.  Rajan Parrikar has written in detail about these on SAWF.
