Ravi Shankar has an unbelievable command over emotions of the raga and the way he handles rhythm has no parallel.  He has a played a wide variety of ragas, created a bunch of them himself (like Tilak Shyam, Parameshwari, Jogeshwari, Bairagi Todi, Rasiya etc), borrowed a few from Carnatic music (like Kirwani, Charukeshi, Simhendra Madhyam, Malaya Maruta etc).

Surprisingly, you find only a handful of ragas "fully expanded" in among 50+ Ravi Shankar albums available in the market.  May be this is because Ravi Shankar catered to audiences outside India and hence played shorter pieces.

Please choose your most favorite raga and also comment about why you like it the most.

I chose "Rasiya", one of the ragas created by Ravi Shankar.  In my humble opinion, that raga is quintessential Ravi Shankar; a matchless gem of a classical performance.
