What to Expect
Students can expect structured, patient instruction that balances traditional foundations with practical progress.
Lessons emphasise posture, technique, listening skills, and musical understanding, with repertoire introduced progressively. Each student’s pace is respected, whether they are beginners or returning learners.
Lesson Arrangements
Lessons are conducted on a one-to-one basis, allowing instruction to be tailored to each student’s needs and progress.
Sessions are available for children, teenagers, and adults, with lesson frequency and duration discussed according to learning goals and availability. All lessons are by appointment.
Our Instructor
Patrick Ngo
Founder & Instructor
Patrick Ngo is a Singapore-based yangqin instrumentalist and educationalist with over 15 years of teaching experience. He serves as Secretary of the Singapore Yangqin Society and Vice President of the Dulcimer Arts Alliance, contributing to the advancement of the art form at both national and regional levels.
Under his guidance, students have attained distinctions in graded examinations and earned accolades in local and regional competitions.
His teaching is grounded in technical discipline, structural precision, and musical clarity — the foundation of strong and lasting musicianship. Beyond performance outcomes, he develops independence, discipline, and capability that equip students to grow with confidence well beyond their years of training.
